The mission of Gate City Charter School for the Arts is to integrate the arts into all aspects of education in order to promote students' social-emotional and academic success, while fostering a life-long love of learning. 

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts defines arts integration as "an approach to teaching in which students construct and demonstrate understanding through an art form. Students engage in a creative process which connects an art form and another subject and meets evolving objectives in both." 

Gate City Charter School for the Arts uses an arts-integrated curriculum to develop dynamic, effective learning opportunities which inspire student excellence in academics and the arts and promote social-emotional growth. Through a variety of pathways, our students cultivate the knowledge, creativity, and inquisitive nature which will foster a life-long love of learning. We use arts integration in every classroom as an approach to teaching in which students construct and demonstrate understanding through an art form.
