Meet the Teacher

My name is Ms. Amanda, and I’m excited to continue in my role as Wellness teacher at Gate City!

This year marks my sixth year as part of the GCCSA community as a parent, and my fourth year working with your amazing students. I’ve spent the past year fully immersed in teaching Wellness, and I’m excited to build on everything we learned together last year—helping students grow in their understanding of health, movement, teamwork, and overall well-being.

One of my favorite things about GCCSA is the strong sense of community that makes this school so special. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to work with and learn from our students across all grade levels.

I earned my BA in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire and have spent many years working with children in a variety of settings.

I am a mom of two, both of whom attend GCCSA. Outside of school, I love spending time with my family and friends outdoors. We enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, and swimming, and I’m always up for a good board game—though I can’t promise I’ll let anyone win!
