Meet the Teacher

Mrs. Waterman

Gate City’s second grade teacher is Julia Waterman.  Mrs. Waterman has been proudly teaching at Gate City since opening their doors in 2014.   This will be her 11th year at Gate City, and 21st year teaching. Julia received her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from New York State College at Brockport and received her Master in Special Education from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY.  She moved to New England in 2013,  with her husband, Jim, and daughters, Aubrey and Addison. Julia spends much of her spare time cheering on her daughters playing soccer, working in her many gardens, reading, swimming or camping with her family. Her favorite activity to do that shows her artistic side is spinning pottery.  Julia loves teaching 2nd grade and believes it is the best grade!  She loves teaching phonics and reading and watching the children bloom.  Julia is very proud of her school and excited about where the year will lead.
