Meet the Teacher

Mr. McHugh

Mark McHugh is the fourth/fifth grade humanities teacher. This is his eleventh year at Gate City, tenth as a lead teacher, and third in the fourth/fifth grade humanities position.


He grew up in Nashua, NH, and graduated from Temple University in 2014. Mark has a passion for working with kids, building community, and writing. 


In his spare time he enjoys playing with his four-year old son, River, learning about history, reading, writing, and watching basketball and football.
