I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from the New Hampshire Institute of Art in 2016. For the last two years, I have worked as an Educational Assistant at Gate City and this will be my first year teaching! Along the way, I have worked with many students across upper elementary and middle school within the classroom and as published authors in the Book Publishing Elective!
Prior to working here at Gate City, I spent nearly fourteen years working with students from kindergarten through high school and college-aged young adults as a Student Engagement Specialist, Academic Advocate, After-School Education Director, Literacy Director, Book Publishing Elective Instructor, Middle & High School Homeschool Education Coach, Tutor, and Creative Writing Mentor.
Throughout my career, I have grown in my passion towards helping students discover their strengths, develop confidence, amplify their voices, and find joy in learning in and out of the classroom, on the page, stage, and beyond.
I am currently working on an anthology of more than 400 poems written during the Pandemic. When I am not creating (which is rare), I spend my free time (which is even more incredibly rare) reading, writing poems on any scrap piece of paper, watching documentaries, revisiting all 157 episodes of the original Twilight Zone, listening to podcasts about true crime or 90s sitcom nostalgia about a boy meeting a world, researching ideas for my next novel, and occasionally traveling on a plane for the sake of wanderlust and relaxation.
