Meet the Teachers

I’m originally from Michigan, but I have been working at Gate City since 2015.  I started college as a vocal music major, but I switched to education and have been teaching in one way or another for over 20 years. 

My Bachelor’s Degree is in Children’s Literature & Theater, and I have a Masters of Education Degree from St. Michael’s College with concentrations in both Curriculum, and Arts Integration. I am a singer who believes that everyone can sing, a writer, an avid reader, a fledgling artist, and I love history. I speak “Duo Lingo Level” German, French and Welsh. I enjoy helping students find their voice and use their civic power to make the world better. I am a Book Creator Ambassador, part of  the iCivics EdNet, an Education Ambassador for Council for Foreign Relations, and I am on the NH Council for Social Studies Board.

I live in Nashua with my husband, 2 grandchildren, their mom, their corgi, and 2 cats!  I am thrilled to be part of the terrific middle school team at Gate City Charter School for the Arts in NH.

My name is Farah Hamami, and this will be my second year as the middle school math teacher at Gate City Charter School for the Arts.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and have worked in education since 2017. Before joining Gate City, I worked as a Title I Math Tutor at Hudson Memorial Middle School and as a Math Instructor at a private math learning center. These experiences have strengthened my passion for helping students build confidence and succeed in mathematics.

I believe that math is more than finding the correct answer—it's about developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and reasoning skills that students can use throughout their lives. My goal is to create a positive, supportive classroom where every student feels encouraged to ask questions, take risks, and grow as a learner.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors, gardening, and crocheting. I love spending time with my husband, our two children, and our five pets. I look forward to partnering with students and families to make this school year a successful, enjoyable, and rewarding experience.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Science Education with a concentration in Earth Science. I have been teaching middle school science at Gate City Charter School for the Arts since 2020, and I taught for six years before joining the GCCSA community.

I like to keep science class hands-on and practical. My goal is for students to develop their curiosity and creativity by practicing the scientific process. We spend time problem-solving, making observations, drawing inferences, and supporting our conclusions with evidence. 

One of my favorite parts of teaching is guiding students as they work with real-world data and discover the same patterns and ideas that scientists have uncovered. I hope that students leave class with the confidence to ask questions, think critically, and explore the world around them.
